Donna Newey

Donna had always wanted to be a veterinary nurse and did lots of work experience during school years helping out at the local vet practices during weekends and after school. Luckily withina week of leaving school she noticed a vacancy in the local newspaper. Successful at interview she was offered the job. Donna joined Fivelands in 1988 at the Moseley surgery.

In 1998 Fivelands opened the Yardley surgery and Donna was then relocated there to help set up a brand new practice. It was great fun to build the client base up from nothing to the successful surgery it is today. We have a great team and everyone works so hard.

Qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2001 and as a RVN we have to

She loves to see how the profession has changed over the years and she loves telling stories of‘how we used to do things’.

Donna enjoys all aspects of veterinary nursing and is mainly our theatre nurse at Yardley. She loves helping out on reception and has over the years has become a familiar face.

Donna has recently gained an Oral Health Certificate as we do many dentals and recently we now offer dental xray too.

She is also a Clinical Coach which involves offering our veterinary nursing student support and guidance throughout their course.

She’s had many pets over the years such as rabbits, chinchillas, parrots, Gecko, dogs and cats but currently has just 3 cats, Jasper, Bob and Maysey.

Donna’s also a busy mum and often gives her time helping the PTA at school. She loves baking celebration cakes and doing various crafts. As a family we love getting out and about at the weekends and enjoying the countryside.
